"I was thinking of my mother's dress, it's up in the attic," she said quietly. "Unless.." she paused and made a small unhappy face. When Mali gestured to continue, she sighed. "Unless I've had to cannablize the dress for curtains and tablecloths or worse, the twins got their hands on it."

"I have a little while before I have to get back to the Inn, shall we go and find out what we have to work with?" Mali asked getting to her feet. "Between the two of us we should be able to track it down without waking Jules."

Celise rose and followed Mali inside and headed upstairs to where the dress was hidden. She knelt down in front of the trunk and opened it. "I can't look. You'll have to tell me, Mali," she said, covering her eyes with her hands.

"The dress is here, but it's definitely seen better days." Mali said as she picked up the old dress. "We might just be able to salvage it." Mali said as she draped it over a near by trunk to get a better look at it.

Celise lowered her hands and looked at the dress. "I think I could adjust the lace here, add maybe some new lace. Maybe some beading or some fancy embroidering," she said, biting her lower lip as she thought. "Luckily I'm the same size as my mother so I don't have to fix the dress that way."

Mali who had turned her attention back the the trunk when Celise starting looking over the dress. Pulled out a carefully wrapped package, turning back the corner of the wrapping; Mali smile in delight at her find. "I don't think your going to have to add the beads or embroidery unless you want to. Look what I found." Mali said holing up her prize, a partial bolt of fabric from the same dress, she didn't think there was enough for a new dress.

"Maman always did save things," she said quietly, taking the package from Mali's hands. "I'm just glad we didn't use this to make curtains or tablecloths." She smiled up at Mali. "This is going to be the prettiest dress."

"Indeed it is, any other trunks we get to raid for your wedding dress or do we take what we have so far down to the kitchen with the better light?" Mali asked carefully folding the dress back up to make it easier to carry down the stairs.

"Let's head down to the kitchen. We can see how much we have to fix and I can make us a pot of tea while we examine the dress."

"Sounds good." Mali commented before following Celise back down stairs. Draping the dress over the back of the chair Mali took a closer look at the seams of the dress.

"How much needlework am I going to have to do?" she asked, her back to Mali as she filled a pot with hot water.
